Why the Deposit Amount on Binance Differs from What You Sent
You transferred exactly 100 USDT to Binance from another platform, but only 99 arrived. Or you bought USDT through C2C for 700 yuan but the quantity doesn't match your expectations. While confusing, most discrepancies have reasonable explanations.
On-Chain Deposit Discrepancies
Network Fees
The most common cause. When you transfer from another exchange or wallet, the sender deducts a network fee (gas/miner fee). For example, withdrawing 100 USDT from OKX with a 1 USDT fee means Binance receives 99 USDT. This fee is charged by the sender, not Binance — Binance charges zero for deposits.
Fee differences by network: TRC20 ~1 USDT, ERC20 ~3-15 USDT, BEP20 very low. Choose TRC20 or BEP20 to save on fees.
If you don't have an account, register on Binance first.
Sender's Internal Fees
Some platforms charge additional service fees beyond network fees. Check your sender's withdrawal record for exact amounts deducted.
Precision Issues
Some tokens experience decimal truncation during transfers — differences so small they're negligible.
C2C Transaction Discrepancies
Exchange Rate Fluctuation
C2C USDT prices vary between merchants and change in real-time. The price at order time may differ slightly from the final execution price.
Different Merchants, Different Prices
Compare several merchants before buying — the price difference can be significant.
How to Verify Amounts
On-chain deposits: Check sender's record for actual amount and fees → search TxID on blockchain explorer → compare with Binance deposit record in the Binance app. C2C trades: Check order details for execution price and quantity received.
How to Minimize Losses
Choose low-fee networks (TRC20 for USDT). Transfer in larger amounts to reduce fee ratios. Compare C2C merchants' prices before buying.
FAQ
Does Binance charge deposit fees?
No. Any shortfall is the sender's network fee.
What if the difference is very large?
If it exceeds normal fee ranges, verify the on-chain record first. If the blockchain shows the full amount but Binance shows less, contact Binance support.
Security Reminder
Verify amounts through official channels: Binance official login and the Binance app. If anyone tells you "the amount is wrong because you need to send an additional fee to unlock," that's 100% a scam. Binance deposits never require extra payments.
